Active c. October 2556[Note 1] |
UNSC Irish Goodbye is a starship of the UNSC Navy. Lieutenant Anwar Shafiq was posted aboard the ship as a young up-and-coming officer, recognised for his ambition by the ship's executive officer. After being recommended for transfer, Shafiq was instead reassigned to a new billet aboard UNSC Saturn under Captain Pedro Alvarez, beginning his service on the ship around or on October 4, 2556. This reassignment ultimately cost Lieutenant Shafiq his life, as he was soon involved in the disastrous events at Site 22 that day.[1]
Trivia[edit]
An "Irish Goodbye" is the act of departing from a location, without announcing or notifying others.
List of appearances[edit]
- Halo: Ascension on Atropos (First mentioned)
Notes[edit]
- ^ As noted in Halo: Saturn Devouring His Son, Lieutenant Shafiq was a new transfer to UNSC Saturn as of the events of the story, dated October 4, 2556. In Halo: Ascension on Atropos, Shafiq notes that he had served aboard the Irish Goodbye prior to being transferred to the Saturn, meaning the ship was still in service around this date.
