The Exchange (Halo: The Master Chief Collection)
From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
The Exchange in Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a rotating storefront introduced in Series 6: Raven where players can use
Season Points earned in-game to purchase items. The Exchange is used as a means to reintroduce items previously only unlockable via time-limited challenges, but also features entirely new items that did not appear in previous seasons or their challenges.[1]
Overview[edit]
The Exchange was first tested during the Flights for Series 6: Raven, during which time The Exchange contained similar content to its final release with a notable inclusion; the Avalanche skin originally unlockable in Series 4: Reclaimer as part of a ranked challenge. However, community pushback on this led to the skin being removed for final release, with 343 Industries opting to leave more time and choose a "more appropriate" price point for the ranked reward skins before including them in The Exchange.[1] The Exchange was launched with Series 6's release on April 7, 2021 and, at the time of launch, had two categories; limited-time items which were rotated weekly, and featured items, which remain available for longer. The list of items available in the exchange grew over the release of subsequent updates throughout 2021, with the rotation left to run through the items in a preset order over the next few years.
On February 26, 2026, Halo Studios changed the Exchange for the first time in five years, making all previously-available (and some previously-unavailable) content available in the Exchange permanently going forward. This includes armour, skins, nameplates, and stances. The exception to this are the Orion and Mirage armour sets and some miscellaneous skins from the 20th anniversary event, which still rotate on a quarterly basis rather than the weekly basis from before, giving players more time to earn anything they don't have. The update also made some previously-timelocked exclusives into launch unlocks for all players.[2]
Rotations[edit]
From February 2026 onward, the Exchange rotates on a quarterly basis, giving players a longer time to unlock the items in. All items previously in the Exchange have now been moved to the store as permanent unlocks.
