Talk:Battle of Meridian (2558)

Rename[edit]

I believe it would be better to call this: Guardian emergence/awakening on Meridian, rather than battle. --AOK 13:39, 3 April 2016 (EDT)

The Guardian only emerged at the end. By then, the miners and Fireteam Osiris had already been in combat with Promethean forces for a while, so I think "battle" is more appropriate. -- Topal the Pilot Blueteam.png (Talk|Contribs) 18:34, 3 April 2016 (EDT)
Unorthodox titles are better if they are official (e.g.: New Phoenix Incident). In this case, I agree with Topal, the Guardian's awakening was only one event part of the overall battle. Imrane-117 (talk) 18:42, 3 April 2016 (EDT)

(reset indent) Though, to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if this mission had a UNSC name ("Operation: ..."), just like those listed in the Limited Edition. After all, it's a proper mission that Infinity gave to a Spartan team. But for now, we can't do much. Imrane-117 (talk) 22:54, 9 April 2016 (EDT)

Well, the mission given to them was to find and return Blue Team, so they probably had a name for Osiris' mission as a whole, and when the mission got dragged on past Meridian, the name stuck. So, I wouldn't bet they had a name for this particular engagement, or any of them, but for the entirety of Osiris' journey (Meridian to Genesis). -- Topal the Pilot Blueteam.png (Talk|Contribs) 23:55, 9 April 2016 (EDT)
