Player customization within Halo: Campaign Evolved follows Halo Infinite and its offerings, this time allowing players to customize the look of Master Chief's Mark V MJOLNIR armor for the first time within the campaign, along with various UNSC and Covenant weapons.[1] Campaign Evolved features skins and styles. These cosmetics can be acquired through a few means, including pre-ordering the game and getting the Foundry Armory Pack, purchasing the Halo: Campaign Evolved Premium Edition or its update and getting the Alpha Halo Armory Pack, or by redeeming codes from Xbox brand promotions. Halo Studios' Brian Jarrard has confirmed that there will be no shop in-game to buy cosmetics.[2]

There are two kinds of customisation: styles that change the pattern/colors of the default Mark V and weapons used by Master Chief (akin to the coating system in Halo Infinite), and skins that change the models of the armors or weapons.[3]

Production notes[edit]

Classic 2001 Mark V + Assault Rifle[edit]

According to Characters, Vehicles, and Weapons Art Director Bryan Repka the Classic 2001 Armor and weapon skins were considered a special project for the design team, rebuilding the original armor and original assault rifle to work in a "hyper-realistic world". When the developers started to play with it in-game they realised it felt "comforting and nostalgic."[4]
