Oda 'Mavamu was a Sangheili who served aboard the Kerel-pattern assault carrier Shadow of Intent who took part in boarding the Vigilance with Piety.

Biography[edit]

Oda 'Mavamu was a young warrior who joined the Shadow of Intent in their mission to hunt down remaining San'Shyuum in 2558. He would frequently petition himself to Rtas 'Vadum to take part in their operations to prove himself, but he was rejected every time as Rtas believed Oda wasn't ready.[1]

For the operation to capture Kafo Dein, Rtas allowed Oda to participate in it. After boarding the Chel Tor-pattern storm cutter Vigilance with Piety that Kafo Dein was stationed on, Oda 'Mavamu would board the ship alongside Tul 'Juran, Vul 'Soran and Stolt, where he would be charged with monitoring the power systems on the ship which the rest of the team knew wasn't an necessary objective. After reporting to the rest of the crew a large concentration of Jiralhanae around the power systems, Vul 'Soran ordered him not to engage them. Oda was unwilling to return to Shadow of Intent if he failed the task Rtas had given to him, Vul 'Soran asked him how he could return if he failed to come back alive before ordering him to draw back.[1]

Oda would ignore 'Soran's orders and attack the Jiralhanae, triggering an alert across the storm cutter that alerted the crew to the boarders' presence. Tul would move to help Oda while 'Soran and Stolt moved on the bridge to capture Kafo Dein. She found Oda alive, but severely injured from the Jiralhanae he had managed to take out. Then after learning Kafo Dein had abandoned the ship and activate its self-destruct sequence, Tul 'Juran was ordered to leave Oda aboard. Initially, she wanted to carry him to escape, but Oda convinced her to leave him, knowing he would only slow her down and wanting to die with honor. Though it pained her, 'Juran ultimatly left him to die, wondering if he would be remembered in song, in the Hall of Eternity or as a cautionary tale.[1]
