Mikaelis is a member of the UNSC Marine Corps. He was attached to the 717th Xeno-Materials Exploitation Battalion during Operation: JOVIAN WHISTLE.

Biography

Mikaelis was deployed to Gao with the 717th Xeno-Materials Exploitation Battalion under Commander Murtag Nelson after Forerunner activity was detected on the planet in April of 2553. Their aim was to recover the Forerunner Ancilla Intrepid Eye for the United Nations Space Command. This mission faced severe challenges as the unit was beset by an apparent serial killer in their mission area and weathered attacks from the Keepers of the One Freedom and anti-UEG groups such as the Venezian Militia and the Committee to Preserve Gao Independence. The 717th drove back the Keepers in their initial engagement but suffered damage to their headquarters in the Montero Vitality Center and casualties among key personnel, including the deaths of every member of an investigative unit of the Gao Ministry of Protection (GMoP) aside from Special inspector Veta Lopis.

On June 6, following this attack on the headquarters and Wendosa, Mikaelis accompanied Nelson and Sergeant Odell as they met with Lopis while she was recovering from the battle in the Vitality Center. He acted as a sentry and stood guard outside the room. He tried to prevent Spartans Ash-G099 and Olivia-G291 from gaining access to the room but was incapacitated as they forced their way into the room. After the Spartans spoke with Lopis and were escorted back to their quarters by Odell, Nelson verbally reprimanded Mikaelis and sent him back to his post for the duration of his conversation with Lopis.
