The Spectre is a ground vehicle in Halo 2 and its remaster Halo 2: Anniversary.

The Spectre features a rear-mounted, rapid-firing plasma cannon which provides 360 degrees of fire, can hold three others after the driver, and can boost. It gives limited protection to everyone using the vehicle. The boost also doesn't interrupt the gunner's turret, unlike the Ghost.[1]

Universe and lore

The Wuzum-pattern Spectre was seen as early as the Battle of Sargasso in 2546, during the War of Annihilation.[2]

The Spectre is a usable vehicle in Quarantine Zone, Uprising, and The Great Journey.

Multiplayer

The Spectre is considered a "Primary Light Vehicle" in the custom game settings, allowing it to replace the Warthog on certain maps in Slayer.[3] These maps include Burial Mounds and Coagulation. The Spectre is able to give Roadkill medals.

Production notes

The Spectre was originally a vehicle named "Shadow" in Halo: Combat Evolved before it was cut late in that game's development.[4] The vehicle was then revived for Halo 2 through a new design, though maintaining many similar gameplay elements.
