Main article: Eos'Mak-pattern plasma pistol

In the original Halo 2, the Plasma Pistol featured is the Eos'Mak-pattern plasma pistol, the standard sidearm of the Covenant and known to the UNSC as the Type-25 Directed Energy Pistol.[2]

In Anniversary, the weapon's model was replaced with that of the Plasma Pistol from Halo: Reach.

Campaign[edit]

The Plasma Pistol is one of the most common weapons found throughout Halo 2. It is most commonly seen in the hands of Grunt enemies. The weapon has had a notable change from its original iteration in Halo: Combat Evolved; it is now capable of being dual wielded, allowing it to be paired with either another Plasma Pistol or any other dual wield-capable weapon. It can be paired with a Magnum for a particularly effective Noob Combo, using the Plasma Pistol's charged shot to strip energy shielding and the Magnum to headshot vulnerable enemies. Otherwise, the weapon's main change is that it does less damage than in Combat Evolved.
