The Frag Grenade is a grenade weapon featured in Halo 2 and its remaster, Halo 2: Anniversary.

Universe and lore[edit]

In the original Halo 2, the grenade featured is the M9 fragmentation grenade, manufactured by Misriah Armory and used by the United Nations Space Command.[2]
In Anniversary, the weapon's model was replaced with that of the M9 grenade featured in Halo 4.[3]

Campaign[edit]
The Frag Grenade is first encountered on the level Cairo Station. In most Master Chief levels the player spawns with four such grenades.
In Halo 2: Anniversary a number of skulls affect the Frag Grenade.
- The Bandanna skull grants the player infinite grenades and ammunition.
- The Boom skull doubles the grenades' explosion radius.
- The SO... ANGRY... skull makes Brutes explode in Frag explosions a short amount of time after berserking.
Multiplayer[edit]
Frag Grenades are standard loadout weapons in Halo multiplayer. They perform largely the same as their campaign counterparts and are common fixtures in every map and mode.
