The Covenant Carbine is a weapon introduced in Halo 2 and its remaster, Halo 2: Anniversary. It is one of the standard weapons used by the Elites throughout the game.[2]

This page focuses on the Covenant Carbine found in the original Halo 2 game and the campaign of Anniversary. Information on the Covenant Carbine found in the multiplayer component of Halo 2: Anniversary can be found here.

Universe and lore

Main article: Vostu-pattern carbine

The Vostu-pattern carbine is the primary service arm of the Covenant, in particular used by the Elites. In the UNSC it is known by the designation Type-51 Carbine.

In Anniversary, the weapon's model was replaced with that of the Mosa-pattern carbine from Halo 4.[3]

Notes

  1. ^ Due to how tickrate is rounded down, the rate of fire is 6 rounds per second rather than ~7.1.
  2. ^ Due to Halo 2 Vista's increased tickrate, rate of fire is not rounded down and ~6.66 rounds per second can be achieved. This oversight was patched in Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
