==Overview==

The Fractures: Entrenched event features content from the [[Entrenched]] [[Fractures]] continuity.{{Ref/Reuse|modepreview}} The Entrenched universe is inspired by dieselpunk, World War I and II, and retrofuturism. In this universe, the Covenant invaded the Sol system, forcing humanity to band together under the Unified Nations Security Confederation (UNSC) to survive in a total war that became known as the Final War. The UNSC developed a model of energized plate armor called [[Eaglestrike]] that gave alchemically-enhanced human soldiers a fighting chance against the vastly superior Covenant army. 

The Final War climaxed with scorched-earth tactics and atomic weaponry obliterating much of the leadership and infrastructure of both sides. Many years later, UNSC conscripts still blindly follow the orders of long-dead generals, continuing their stand against the mutant remnants of the Covenant in the hope of one day liberating their ruined world.
==Entrenched content==
Following in Tenrai's footsteps, Entrenched was a recurring event, returning to the game approximately every month during Season 02. Beginning in May of 2022, players could begin to earn a limited amount of levels within the event's progression path through event-specific challenges. Each challenge, specific to the event's [[Land Grab]] playlist, would allow players to progress by one level when completed. Land Grab is inspired by [[Territories]] from previous ''Halo'' titles.{{Ref/Reuse|modepreview}}{{Ref/Reuse|EntrenchedLaunch}} 

Helmet options earned through Entrenched would be made available on all [[Armor customization (Halo Infinite)|armor cores]] during [[Season 05: Reckoning]], with shoulder pad options following with the release of [[Spirit of Fire (Operation)|Spirit of Fire]] in January of [[2024]]. Visor options unlocked through Entrenched would become available on all armor cores during the August, 2022 drop pod in Season 02: Lone Wolves. All [[Coatings (Halo Infinite)|armor and weapon coatings]] would be made available on all of their respective cores with the release of [[Fleetcom (Operation)|Fleetcom]] in July of the same year. Rewards earned through Entrenched's event pass would eventually be added to [[The Exchange (Halo Infinite)|the Exchange]] during [[Blue Team (Operation)|Blue Team]] and [[Legacy (Operation)|Legacy]] in [[2025]].

===Weekly rewards===
Like Tenrai before it, six unique weekly challenges with exclusive rewards were available during Entrenched. Like the challenges used to earn levels in the event pass, these weekly challenges were tied to Land Grab, and all unlocked an Entrenched-themed cosmetic option. Like the event pass' content, five of these six rewards would eventually be added to the Exchange during Blue Team and Legacy, with the Bluewood Bole vehicle coating remaining exclusive to the event's initial run.
