This may have been a typographical error, with Chapter 23 meant to be on July 18 or, perhaps, to serve as a flashback of sorts. Chapter 19 clearly begins much later than 0600, since the marines were deployed at 0600; even if their bases were set up almost instantly, they still took "a couple hours" to get from the firebase to grid 13x24.
