Ages of Abandonment
From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
The Ages of Abandonment were the first Age in the Covenant Age system.[1][2] By the end of the Human-Covenant War, the Covenant had underwent a total of eighteen Ages of Abandonment.[3]
Overview[edit]
In the ceremonial Progression of the Ages, this age was represented by an obsidian stone.[1]
During the ritual, the appropriate dialogue was as followed:[1]
Leader: "Abandonment."
Congregation: "The First Age! Ignorance and fear!"
Events[edit]
First Age of Abandonment[edit]
The first period of Covenant history; this age refers to the time from 2200 BCE, which marked the start of the Stoic-Reformist conflict, and 2100 BCE, when the Forerunner Dreadnought left Janjur Qom.[4] The next known Age after this was the First Age of Conflict.[5]
Fourth Age of Abandonment[edit]
The Akton-pattern escort vessel first entered service.[6]
Nineteenth Age of Abandonment[edit]
At some point following the First Age of Retribution, the Nineteenth Age of Abandonment would begin, at least according to the adherents of the Governors of Contrition. Whether this age is universally accepted among all Covenant remnants remains to be seen. During this time, Kanto'Boreft, who was the Minister of Aretalogy, held the Festival of Joyous Partition on Atropos.[3]
