Venezia is a human colony formerly governed by the United Earth Government, now likely under the control of a centralized Insurrectionist leadership. Sometime prior to 2543, the planet cut off communications with the UNSC. At the time, it was a known haven for terrorists.[1] At some point during the Insurrection they blew up the local CAA bureau.[2] Months after the end of the Human-Covenant War, rebel forces have begun preparation for an attack on the UEG capital, Earth.[3] One of its major cities is New Tyne. In January 2553, after several warnings to the UNSC Monte Cassino to leave their space went unanswered, Venezia opened fire on the ship using ground based T-38 triple-A, which missed the ship.[4] The site was soon fired upon by the Monte Cassino and was destroyed.
