The UNSC Iwo Jima was a UNSC Naval destroyer. She was assigned to Battlegroup Stalingrad of the UNSC Home Fleet. The Iwo Jima was destroyed in 2552 during the Battle of Onyx in The Great War, otherwise known as the Human-Covenant War.

Background

The ship was part of Battlegroup Stalingrad and saw action at the Battle of Onyx. During the first engagement against Covenant ships in that battle, she grazed a Covenant carrier while attempting to disengage and crashed into two destroyers. The Iwo Jima then self-destructed, destroying the two enemy warships in the process.[4]
