Team Saber

Template:Ratings Team Saber is a United Nations Space Command SPARTAN-III Gamma Company military element. They are one of the finest Fire Teams in Gamma Company. Team Saber is the equivalent of Blue Team in Gamma Company. At around age 7, these orphaned children chose to become SPARTANs, and were sent to Camp Currahee on the planet Onyx. After all of the members survived the biomodification process, Saber Team graduated from the SPARTAN-III training program on February 20, 2551. As they were one of the highest-ranked teams in the program, they stayed on Onyx to participate in a friendly fight with Team Gladius and Team Katana to see who would claim top honors. They are the last surviving team in Gamma (Note: This is if you do not include the slipspace hibernating member of Katana).

Dossier

• Spartan G099-Ash - The leader of Team Saber, Ash shows the neccessary leadership that is required by the squad leader position. He is always aware of what his teammates are doing, and ready to assist when they are in trouble.
• Spartan G003-Holly (KIA)- Saber's Close-Quarters Battle specialist, Holly was demoted twice for fighting. Her hair was buzz-cut into the shape of bear claws and other Spartan-IIIs would tease her about this fact.
• Spartan G188-Dante (KIA)- The demolitions expert of Team Saber, Dante had near-magical abilities when it came to explosives.
• Spartan G???-Olivia- The team's scout/stealth expert. She was called "O" by her fellow Spartans because she was just as quiet as the vowel's name. She was regularly positioned as a scout for the team.
• Spartan G???-Mark- Nicknamed "The Mark" for his exceptional abilities with a Sniper Rifle, Mark is Team Saber's best sharpshooter.

Ghosts of Onyx

During a training exercise, Team Saber was attacked by what appeared to be artillery fire. After retreating behind the Zone 67 fence, they ran into Onyx Sentinels, their previous assailants. After a sporadic firefight, Saber learned about the strange nature of these Forerunner constructs and retreated to the jungle to lay low for a time.

The squad joined the remaining Blue Team members, Kurt, Fred, Linda, Will, and Kelly, to help Dr. Catherine Halsey recover crucial Forerunner technology rumored to be buried below the surface of Onyx. After a stealth entry, the Spartans rescued the stasis-sleeping Team Katana member. They managed to escape detection by the Sentinels, but were attacked by a massive Covenant invasion fleet and forced to fall back to the "Shield" entry room. A drawn-out battle ensued, and the super-soldiers killed many Covenant troops, losing only three of their own. Kurt ordered the surviving Spartans through the entry, and sacrificed himself for their safety by destroying the Covenant army that attempted to gain entrance to the micro-Dyson sphere. The army included invasion commander, Voro Nar 'Mantakree. Kurt destroyed the Covenant with two FENRIS nuclear warheads. Team Saber's last known location is inside the micro-Dyson sphere that is contained beneath Onyx (known to the Forerunners as a "Shield World").
