Outpost C9, also referred to as High Ground[1], is a United Nations Space Command military base on the coast near Mombasa, Kenya on Earth.
History
The base was created long ago to fight "earlier and simpler" enemies than those faced by the UNSC in the 26th century[2], and was at one point occupied by NATO in the past.[3] It was recommissioned by the UNSC following the New Mombasa Slipspace Event.[4][2] Following their rise to prominence in the hands of Jiralhanae soldiers in the Great Schism, recovered examples of the Type-2 spike grenade and the Type-25 Spiker were tested at the facility.[1][5]
