| During the [[Battle of Mombasa]] on [[2552#October|October 20, 2552]], Kizingo was the site of a fierce battle between the [[United Nations Space Command|United Nations Space Command (UNSC)]] and the [[Covenant Empire|Covenant]]. An [[Orbital Drop Shock Trooper|Orbital Drop Shock Trooper (ODST)]], [[Michael Crespo]], drove a [[M808B Main Battle Tank|Scorpion tank]] along Kizingo Boulevard, to the UNSC [[Rally point]] at the entrance to the ONI Alpha Site. He encountered heavy Covenant [[Type-26 Wraith|armor]] on the way. The [[UNSC Marine Corps|UNSC Marines]] later made a stand against incoming Covenant forces at the rally point, before joining forces further entrenched in the ONI complex.<ref name="ODST"/>
