John's mother gave birth to her son in Elysium City, Eridanus II in 2511. She lived there with her son and husband. They were a relatively normal family; in his adult years as a SPARTAN-II, John remembered her as being kind, and associated her with the distinctive smell of soap.[2] She had her son attend school at Elysium City Primary Education Facility Number 119. She also let her son play with his friends Parisa and Ellie Bloom. When John was six years old, he was abducted by the Office of Naval Intelligence and replaced with a flash clone without his mother's knowledge.
John's mother eventually would witness the clone of her son die, believing him to be her real son.
