It is a more ornamental version of the standard Wraith, similar to the Flame Decal Warthog. The only difference it has from the regular Wraith is its appearance is different, as it has a paint scheme that appears similar to the Halo 2 Sangheili Honor Guard armor, hence the name (Honor Guard Wraith).

It can be activated in the skulls section on the pause menu while playing the game; it cannot be taken off until the game has ended. Unfortunately, only the stripes appear when using it in play. As such, you need to obtain the right player colour in multiplayer in order for the design to look right.

Gameplay
The Honor Guard Wraith is mostly the same in combat. Some think it is distinctly more powerful and faster. In the skulls menu, it claims that it is a "Unique variant of the Covenant Wraith". It is driven by experienced Honor Guard Elites, unlike regular Minor Elites, which should, technically, give it a drastic increase in combat efficiency, but it is only aesthetic.
The Honor Guard Wraith is a special skin available for the Wraith unit in Halo Wars. In the original game release, it is included as a downloadable code alongside the Fireball Warthog with a purchase of the Halo Wars Limited Edition, though was included for all players in the release of Halo Wars: Definitive Edition. The skins for both vehicles can be toggled on/off as a setting in the in-game menus, in which the Honor Guard skin will replace all player-owned Wraiths, no matter what upgrade stage they are at.

After Title Update 2.0 the Honor Guard Wraith was made available in multiplayer matchmaking.

Also now you do not need to turn the skull on after an update, your Wraiths will be Honour if you have the Halo Wars limited edition with the Wraith not the Flame Warthog.

Overview[edit]

Design details[edit]

The Honor Guard Wraith variant displays few major differences to other Wraiths employed in the same time frame. The primary difference comes in the form of aesthetic changes, with a paint scheme reminiscent of that employed by Honor Guards.[1]

Usage[edit]

The Honor Guard Wraith was employed by the Covenant during the early years of the Human-Covenant War, being employed at least during February 2531.[1]

Gameplay[edit]

The Honor Guard Wraith is a special skin available for the Wraith unit in Halo Wars. In the original game release, it is included as a downloadable code alongside the Fireball Warthog with a purchase of the Halo Wars Limited Edition, though was included for all players in the release of Halo Wars: Definitive Edition. The skins for both vehicles can be toggled on/off as a setting in the in-game menus, in which the Honor Guard skin will replace all player-owned Wraiths, no matter what upgrade stage they are at.
