Template:Planet Hesduros is a Sangheili colony world.[1]

History

Then known as Kelekos, the planet was once part of the Forerunner ecumene. The Forerunners left at least one portal device on the planet, which was synchronized with Shield World 006.[2]

In March 2553, Shipmaster Jul 'Mdama escaped ONI Research Facility Trevelyan. The portal through which he escaped made him emerge on Hesduros near Panom Keep, from what the residents called a "holy gate". The locals had been out of contact with the Covenant for more than a year and were thus unaware of the Great Schism and the Blooding Years.[1] While in Panom keep, Jul identified markings on their nearby Forerunner ruins as coordinates to the Didact's personal shield world, Requiem. Exploiting their religious devotion to the Forerunners, 'Mdama convinced Panom to join his cause, beginning the formation of a powerful militant resurgence of the Covenant.[3]

As a result of the faction's roots on Hesduros, much of the Zealots in Jul 'Mdama's Covenant order originate from the colony. This is evident by the distinctive ornamental design of their armor which is traditional to Hesduros.[4]
