DEC 12, 2559 // Deep behind enemy lines, Sorel and his squad defend their position
- Spartan Theodore Sorel: Oscar One Two Eight is down. I repeat: Oscar One Two Eight is down, and we've lost uplink to command. Anyone hearing me out there? Does anybody copy?
[Sound: Static comms]
- Private First Class Miyazaki: Banished troopers! Nine o'clock!
[Sound: Erudo'ma'keth-pattern pulse carbine being fired.]
- Private Chamberlain: Open fire!
[Sound: Gunfire.]
- Sorel: Telemetry's shot so I have no sense of our position. All I know is that we're deep in enemy territory. Banished hardware is deploying from orbit faster than we can count them.
[Sound: Clamoring. Gunfire.]
- Sorel: We're dug in and holding position. We'll head for the rendezvous point as soon as we've got a chance to move — if we get a chance.
