- December 1: The Halcyon-class light cruiser UNSC Pillar of Autumn is launched, completing its construction over Mars, beginning its forty-two years of service in the United Nations Space Command.[8][Note 1][9]

- ^ According to Chapter 25 of Halo: The Fall of Reach, the ship saw service for forty-three years meaning it saw use in 2509, however this is not possible with same chapter saying the structural system that was used in the ship being created in the following year 2510.
