The 105th Drop Jet Platoon was a UNSC Orbital Drop Shock Trooper platoon.[1]

Operational History

The 105th Drop Jet Platoon saw action against the Covenant Army during the Battle of Jericho VII in February 2535 where it was overrun and obliterated by a force of a thousand Unggoy soldiers.

The unit's death would later be avenged when the offending Unggoy were eliminated by SPARTAN-IIs, led by Chief Petty Officer John-117, in the continuing skirmishes of Jericho VII.

Trivia

  • The 105th Platoon should not be confused with the 105th Orbital Drop Shock Trooper Division, although both may have served similar roles.
  • Although it is assumed that the platoon is an ODST platoon due to the 'drop jet' title there is no actual evidence in the book that they are ODSTs. They could possibly be "parachutists".
  • As platoons are not given permanent numerical designations, it is commonly assumed that the 105th was in fact the "105th's drop jet platoon", although a division would reasonably have more than one such unit.
