World War II was probably the most brutal war in the history of mankind. World War II was fought between the Allied Nations (consisting of America, Canada, France, England, Australia, and the USSR) and the Axis Alliance (consisting of Germany, Japan, and Italy) and lasted six years, from 1939 - 1945. The war made more than 50 million dead on the Allies side[1] and 12 million on the Axis side[2]. The war was won by the Allied Nations and shortly afterwards, the victors of the war formed the United Nations organization, which would later form the United Nations Space Command. Also to note is that this war marked the first ever usage of a nuclear weapon.
