==Tactics==
*Simply use a grenade or rocket on the middle of the group if crowded together. This tactic is useful in the beginning of [[The Storm]], when the group of Grunts and Jackals are grouped together, watching Truth's sermon.
*Use a [[Battle Rifle]] or [[Covenant]] [[Carbine]] to defeat the Grunts and Jackals first, then it will be easier to take out the Elite of Brute. Or, do the opposite, and take out the leader to scare the Grunts, making them easier to kill.
*In Halo Wars, simply make a small army of mixed infantry squads to overpower your opponents.
*In Halo Wars, you could also make a group of anti-infantry vehicles, like [[Warthog]]s, [[Scorpion]]s, [[Ghost]]s, or [[Wraiths]].

The group appears to be made up of around four to five Grunts[1] or Jackals.[2] A File is commanded by a Major Grunt, a Major Jackal, a Minor Elite, or a Minor Brute. A File is the Covenant equivalent to a UNSC squad. A Lance is the unit above a File.
