For Halo 4 we have many choices for our SPARTAN-IV armor customization. Here are my opinions on what's available so far. Be reminded, this is just for kicks and I am in no way bashing the game or its features. You have any opinions, feel free to leave them under mines.

Aviator

CIO

The way the GUNGNIR-style camera eyes are oriented reminds me of the Pfhor from the original Marathon. In Marathon 2 and Infinity, the Pfhor's eyes were inverted so the bottom eye wouldn't look like a clown nose; because of this change, they went from looking somewhat comical to looking like they had Predator plasma casters aimed at their faces at all times. The similarity is coincidental, of course, given that Marathon is Bungie's property. --Courage never dies. 10:15, 3 September 2012 (EDT)

Deadeye

Defender

Despite vaguely resembling the JFO helmet - one of my favorites - this one is hideous. However, I really like its backstory. --Courage never dies. 10:15, 3 September 2012 (EDT)

Does resemble the JFO helmet but also in my opinion, the War Master helmet as well, kinda has similar elements including the shape of the visor. I can't see its back story, the image is a lil blurry.--Killamint [Comm|Files] 12:43, 3 September 2012 (EDT)

Enforcer

Engineer

Helmet looks weird and a lil ugly. Must have some new technology for the visor or a hidden camera somewhere, otherwise you wouldn't be able to see out of it.--Killamint [Comm|Files] 20:30, 28 August 2012 (EDT)

The armours nice, but the helmet is weird... I don't really see how someone could see through that, unless they had some sort of sophisticated HUD system. --TentacleTornado 11:09, 29 August 2012 (EDT)

EOD

From an aesthetic perspective, I don't like the sleeker contours and separate eyepieces of this version; it certainly looks inferior to the Mark V variant and even the Mark VI. EVA

FOTUS

The helmet looks similar to the Promethean Knights. Don't understand the large spike on top; just seems like an armor for asethetic purposes. Pretty much makes you look like a knight.--Killamint [Comm|Files] 20:30, 28 August 2012 (EDT)

I like the notion that this suit is reverse-engineered from Forerunner tech, probably Promethean Knights. However, the spike on top is simply annoying. It's like 343 Industries decided to mar the quality of an otherwise awesome helmet for the sake of continuing their running unicorn gag. --Courage never dies. 10:15, 3 September 2012 (EDT)

GUNGNIR

HAZOP

Like Tentacletornado said, the GEN2 version of the HAZOP helmet looks better suited to its role than the Mark V version. This one is appropriately reminiscent of a gas mask. --Courage never dies. 10:15, 3 September 2012 (EDT)

Infiltrator

As seen in the PAX Prime video, this one has too many lights around the "jaw" to seem like a proper stealth helmet. It's too round, as well. --Courage never dies. 10:15, 3 September 2012 (EDT)

Locus

Oceanic

Orbital

This one is reminiscent of the Mark V EVA helmet. I like how the AEON skin is a tribute to Emile, showing that NOBLE Team's legacy extends to more than just a statue. --Courage never dies. 10:15, 3 September 2012 (EDT)

Operator

Despite the name, this is definitely not meant to be the helmet as used by the Asymmetrical Action Group. It reminds me of the helmets that Pelican and Hornet pilots wear in Halo 3.

Pathfinder

The helmet looks somewhat similar to the deadspace helmet. Also the boots look a lil funny to me.--Killamint [Comm|Files] 20:30, 28 August 2012 (EDT)

Pioneer

The helmet looks Forerunner-ish, almost like the UNSC got its design from Forerunner elements. Just looks weird.--Killamint [Comm|Files] 20:30, 28 August 2012 (EDT)

Oh, dear God. I can't really see anyone wearing this. Maybe its the purple, but this looks like a joint UNSC-Covenant effort (I'd usually be happy about this, but this is just ugly). --TentacleTornado 11:09, 29 August 2012 (EDT)

Recon

Recruit

Overall, my favorite armor to date. To me, it seems the most relevant to Mjolnir armor and maintains that classic "Spartan" look.--Killamint [Comm|Files] 20:30, 28 August 2012 (EDT)

Rogue

At first I assumed that this was an all-new helmet with the same name as the Vestol Corporation's model. However, its armory description states that it is the same helmet, albeit drastically redesigned. Scanner

Scout

Scout is my favorite helmet in Halo 3, but the one in Halo: Reach is (sorry Jun) hideous. This one resembles the one from Halo 3, but is still not pretty in my opinion. —S331

I like all the ones that appear from previous games, and this is no exception. I've always liked scout, even its Reach iteration, and it is one I will probably wear. --TentacleTornado 11:09, 29 August 2012 (EDT)

Soldier

This one looks menacing and practical. From what I understand, this is actually a starter helmet. I'll play my first few War Games sessions and Spartan Ops missions with Recruit, (which makes sense canonically), but I'll definitely use this one after leveling up a few ranks. --Courage never dies. 10:15, 3 September 2012 (EDT)

Stalker

The fact that this helmet is a ripoff of Brute Stalker tech is pretty cool. The helmet's background really shows in its design. From a head-on view it reminds me of a cobra with its hood flared. --Courage never dies. 10:15, 3 September 2012 (EDT)

Strider

Tracker

Vanguard

It doesn't stay on frame long enough because the "rushing" dude didn't bother to let the Spartan look back towards the front. We need Halopedians at these events (1 recording the video, 1 playing the game) so that we can get better footage. Venator

War Master

Warrior

Wetwork
