Ribbon component of the Colonial Cross.

The UNSC Colonial Cross is among the highest ranking military decorations awarded to Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, and Airmen in the UNSCDF. The Colonial Cross is awarded for acts of singular daring and devotion[1] and is the highest wartime decoration a UNSC serviceman or woman can earn.[2] It is usually given out in a ceremony recognizing the person who has won the award.[3]

In 2552, Fleet Admiral Sir Terrence Hood held a highly publicized ceremony to award several Colonial Crosses aboard Cairo Station.[4]
