The UNSC PRIORITY TRANSMISSION 00106C-54 was a message sent from 30871-00289-RF of the EXOTERIC Division, to Catherine-B320 between April 22 and July 24 of 2552.

Overview

Brief

The transmission detailed that three weeks prior to the transmission being sent, a mining crew at asteroid TC-858 stumbled across something that the Exoteric divisions xenoarchaeologists were having trouble making sense off. With the thing in question being a very old piece of alien technology that they were not sure it was Forerunner or something completely different. The alien technology acted like some sort of gateway to an unknown location, with initial exploratory probes yielding evidence of an unknown hostile life form that was not Covenant.

Mission

With the EXOTERIC division wanting to learn more, but needing to keep things quiet, Kat-B320 and Emile-A239 were sent to investigate TC-858 to observe, reconnoiter, and get back safely. Leaving behind the rest of NOBLE Team as they could not be afforded to all be pulled from their existing assignment. With a Prowler to extract them the following day after the transmission was sent at 0800 hours.

Noble Two, we’ve got something a little… unique, and it needs your immediate attention. Three weeks ago, a mining crew at TC-858 stumbled upon something that our xenoarcheologists are having a tough time making any sense of. Seems like there’s a piece of very old technology embedded within the asteroid – we’re not sure if it’s Forerunner or something else entirely, but it does seem to act as some sort of gateway to… somewhere else. Initial exploratory probes yielded evidence of an unknown life form – it’s not Covenant, but it's sure as hell still hostile.

We need to know more, but we need to keep this quiet. We’re sending you and Noble Four to investigate. We can’t afford to pull all of Noble from its current assignment, but we like the unique combination of your and S-A239’s skillsets for this particular endeavor. Observe, reconnoiter, and above all, get back safely. We’re going to need Noble at full strength soon, especially after Fumirole. And yes, we mean “full” strength.

A prowler will extract you both from at your current location at 0800 tomorrow and take you directly to TC-858. Good hunting.
