Talk:Wellsley

hm... could Wellsley have been the second AI Keyes mentioned in FoR? Seems likely but i can't find any info supporting the theory.Forerunner 10:13, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

I dont think that Wellsley is the second AI for the PoA. Wellsley is destroyed in the Truth and Reconciliation when it crashed into Halo after take-off. I believe that their is a third AI that was left on the ship, due to the fact that 343 GS is taking data from the PoA's arrays after Cortina is removed from the system and Wellsely is destroyed. ~Demon Slayer~ 11:15 Oct 8, 2008

No, it makes sense that Wellsley would be the second AI. He wasn't destroyed until the end of Halo: The Flood, and it's not likely the ODST Battalion had their own personal AI. Captain Keyes most likely gave him to Silva when the Autumn was boarded, because it'd be a waste of an AI to destroy, and the best protection for him is with the Helljumper CO. Arby116

Dumb or Smart AI?[edit]

Was Wellesley a dumb or smart AI, or was it never shown? I have always assumed he was dumb, as I can't remember him being called a smart AI, nor can I remember him showing much emotion. --TentacleTornado 16:50, 20 August 2012 (EDT)

Mention in The Fall of Reach[edit]

“We’ve got more than that, sir,” Hikowa replied. “Cortana is running the shakedown and supervising Dr. Halsey’s modifications to the ship. We have a backup AI to handle point defense.”

“Really?” Keyes was surprised; getting a single AI was tough enough these days. Getting two was unprecedented.

“Yes, sir. I’ll see to the initialization of our AI as soon as Cortana is through running her diagnostics.” TheEld (talk) 10:49, 5 August 2018 (EDT)TheEld

A lot can happen in 14 minutes annoyingly. We'd be assuming otherwise even if its really obvious. Its in conjecture regardless. If only data drop 6 was set before that scene. -CIA391 (talk) 13:36, 5 August 2018 (EDT)
