Talk:Jiralhanae Major

From Halopedia, the Halo wiki

  • Paul Bertone - 5:02 of ViDoc: Et Tu Brute - Visually through the art we defined the different classes. The standard Brute has just its normal armor and a very standard helmet. The Brute Captain has a much bigger headdress and then the Brute Chieftains have very elaborate head dresses and very elaborate shoulder pads and armor on them. The interesting thing is some of the ideas that we came up with is a, not only do we need to figure out how the Brutes interact with the other Covenant but also how Brutes interact with Brutes and we developed and we developed the idea of Brute Pac.
He is referring to the Brutes of Halo 3. They are significantly different from those in Halo 2, they wear different armor. Five clases of Brute in Halo 2 are discernible, Minor (The naked ones), Major (Those with Armor), Captain (Those with armor and a flag), Honor Guard (With Honor Guard armor) and cheftian (Tartarus). It seems minor brutes will dissappear in Halo 3 (And understandibly, since they are now the primary command race of the Covenant) and Honor Guards are not mentioned. Still, they appeared on Halo 2. -ED 03:57, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

AGREED - I agree with Ed, Major brutes appear in Halo 2, but maybe something should be put up on the main article stating that it appears that there will be no Major or Minor brute class distinctions in Halo 3 as far as we know --Dockman 17:52, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

AGREED - As per ED. Major Brutes are seen in Halo 2. I agree that a differentiation might want to be made between Halo 2 and Halo 3 Brutes.--RotBrandon 06:37, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

AGREED - As per Ed as well. Major Brutes are only seen in Halo 2 which is outdated material that may conflict with Halo 3. -- Black Mercy 00:01, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

AGREED- I think that Ed is right as well. Major Brutes do appear in Halo 2. The article claims that they wear full armor which I am guessing is the helmet and armor platings on their arms, but I think that it doesn't matter if the Major brutes have helmets to help signify their rank. I've come across brutes that had armor platings on their arms, but no helmets. Even captains that didn't have helmets, even though that is rare. So knowing this information, it is easy to distinguish a Brutes rank in halo 2. Can someone PLEASE agree with what I am saying? --HaloRocks! 04:12, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

I deleted the fact or fiction template because Major Brutes and Minor Brutes do appear in both games, as mentioned in the article. --HaloRocks! 19:28, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
