Talk:Fall of High Charity

From Halopedia, the Halo wiki

Fixes[edit]

Things that need to be fixed:

1. 4 sides in the battle - MC not included in table
2. No mention of end result (Truth escape, Tartarus escape, MC escape, Gravemind victory, etc)
3. Extension in general

Now it just needs a cleanup. --Forgottenlord 00:21, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Proposed Name Change[edit]

Okay, this has been bugging me for a bit, but I do not think this should be called the "First" Battle of High Charity, it should simply be the "Battle of High Charity". The second fight on High Charity in Halo 3 is sometimes referred to as the "Second Battle of High Charity", but I don't think it meets the criteria of a true battle. The second fight was more of a raid than anything else. You had one or two guys fighting the Flood, not two armies clashing with each other like in a true battle. The second fight was a raid, a rescue mission, and therefore that should be left as a raid and this should be merely "Battle of High Charity", because int this first fight, you did have full-fledged armies fighting for control.

Does anyone think that this makes more sense?Fire Eater 23:59, April 24, 2010 (UTC)

Well I sorta see where your coming from, however generally the term "battle" means a skirmish in a conflict and even the raid of high charit was like a skirmish in a sense. I think you should stick with "First Battle of High Charity" to be honest.

Rename vote[edit]

The rename template's been on the page for a while now. I'd go ahead and move it right now, but I guess we should hold a vote just in case someone has anything against moving it.--Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 11:45, 14 April 2011 (EDT)

Support.svg Support - As the template says. The second engagement was merely a one-man raid. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 11:45, 14 April 2011 (EDT)

Support.svg Support - I agree completely. --"Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have." -Thomas Jefferson 11:50, 14 April 2011 (EDT)

Request to Merge[edit]

This should be merged with the Battle of Installation 05. Its not really a separate battle, all the events are apart of one another. Councilor 'Rumilee (talk) 10:50, 17 December 2015 (EST)

It's a battle that's part of another larger battle, just like the Battle of Mombasa and Battle of Havana are part of the Battle of Earth, or the Battle at Szurdok Ridge is part of the Fall of Reach. The Battle of Installation 05 page is big enough without all the content of this page added to it. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 11:44, 22 December 2015 (EST)

Name[edit]

I feel like this article is better named Fall of High Charity. More recent media calls it that, too. --AOK 14:43, 28 December 2015 (EST)

Agreed. --NightHammer(talk)(contribs) 14:54, 28 December 2015 (EST)

Everyone in agreement? I can change it if you want. --AOK 11:50, 29 December 2015 (EST)

Sure, go ahead. --NightHammer(talk)(contribs) 12:01, 29 December 2015 (EST)

Alright, doing so right now.--AOK 14:15, 29 December 2015 (EST)

I like the new title, but if it's been used in official media, then someone should source it properly. I don't have any recent Covenant-focused novel. Imrane-117 (talk) 11:20, 8 February 2016 (EST)
It is consistently referred to the fall of High Charity in Shadow of Intent, while I believe "Battle of High Charity" was only used once in the Encyclopedia. --NightHammer(talk)(contribs) 17:19, 12 February 2016 (EST)
