Cygnus is an Outer Colony world of the Unified Earth Government located in the Cygnus system.

The colony saw heavy fighting between the Insurrectionists and the UNSC during the Insurrection.[1] In the late 2540's, a colony ship traveling to Cygnus suffered a catastrophic slipspace malfunction due to its improperly mounted slipspace drive. When the drive was activated, the ship was cut in half and 700 crew and passengers were killed.[2]
