==Universe and lore==
Illusion is set within the [[Office of Naval Intelligence]]'s [[ONI Ilex Facility|Ilex Facility]] Lab W17, where experiments on [[Covenant]] [[active camouflage]] and [[overshield]] technologies were once conducted. This research resulted in the creation of the Multifunctional Emitter Prototype, a room-size device which projects an energy field capable of applying the effects of either active camouflage or overshield to personnel within the room. The map features three primary routes, with the central corridor featuring a gimmick where an energy field within the corridor projects active camouflage, giving any players within the corridor the effects of active camouflage.
