- — Official Press Release[1]
The Halo 3: ODST Mobile Tour was a national tour throughout the United States conducted by Microsoft and Bungie to promote the launch of Halo 3: ODST. The tour consisted of an ex-military M820A2 expandible truck, with the rear section modified to accomodate eight Xbox 360 consoles capable of playing Halo 3: ODST. The vehicle made stops at GameStops in 22 cities across the country throughout August-September 2009, with guests able to play ODST's new Firefight mode ahead of the game's launch. High-scorers were able to win Halo merchandise.[1][2][3]
The truck, in addition to the Xbox 360 consoles, was modified to promote Halo 3: ODST, sporting a black paintjob with Xbox 360, ODST and United Nations Space Command logos. The paintjob frames the truck as property of the UNSC and Orbital Drop Shock Troopers, claiming it to be a "Mobile Firefight Simulation Facility".
