The Eklon'Dal Phantom is based on the iconic {{Pattern|Ru'swum|Phantom|}} and {{Pattern|Kez'katu|Phantom|}} Phantoms pioneered during the era of the Covenant empire. Thanks to the empire's collapse into [[Great Schism|civil war]], restrictions on the use of [[Forerunner]] technology allowed the [[Banished]] and its war-forges to begin making home-grown improvements to their fleet of vehicles - with their dropships being some of the most prolific examples. Accordingly, the Eklon'Dal Phantom features noticeably increased armour plating and a more pronounced empennage, though otherwise mostly bears resemblance to its imperial forebears.{{Ref/Reuse|Enc22}}

Most of the changes introduced by Eklon'Dal's engineers were functionally negligible to the vehicle's overall performance, though the changes of significance were a cause of argument among the members of the [[clan]].{{Ref/Reuse|Enc22}}

Similar to the [[M650 Mastodon]], the Phantom can be used as a mobile garrison. Phantoms perform okay against aircraft, but poorly against infantry, vehicles, and structures. Due to their low offensive power Phantoms benefit greatly from a complement of infantry. If the Phantom is destroyed, the survival of the passenger depends on their remaining health when aboard. If the Phantom was destroyed with passengers in full health, they will survive but will take damage.
