B Company was a company of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers under the command of First Lieutenant Melissa McKay assigned to the UNSC Pillar of Autumn in 2552.

History[edit]

B Company was one of four companies present within the 22nd Tactical when the UNSC Pillar of Autumn arrived at Installation 04 on September 19, 2552. They took part in the defense of the cruiser from Covenant boarding parties before landing on the ringworld via SOEIV. They organized under Major Antonio Silva and were ordered to get in position to directly assault the mesa known as Alpha Base while C Company inserted via D77 Pelican dropship. 1LT McKay's troops would fight their way into the backdoor of the structure, eventually linking up with Major Silva and his force.[3]

Pillar of Autumn[edit]

Main article: Raid on the Pillar of Autumn

1LT McKay would lead B Company on a raid of the downed Halcyon-class light cruiser, intending to retrieve supplies from the ship for Alpha Base. The now-62-person force was divided into three platoons, led by First Lieutenant McKay, Second Lieutenant Oros and Master Sergeant Lister (standing in for the preoccupied Second Lieutenant Dalu). The company would strike the Covenant guards at dawn of September 20, and take the ship by storm. |1st Platoon would begin the task of scouring supplies from the ship while 2nd Platoon would lock off the remaining compartments to ensure the work would not be disturbed.

For the convoy back from the cruiser, 1st Platoon was assigned as anti-air defense, while 3rd Platoon, under 1LT McKay, was designated to eliminate ground targets. Unlike the Warthog platoons, 2nd Platoon was assigned a mix of recovered M808B and M808C tanks.

Truth and Reconciliation[edit]

B Company was presumably involved in the capture of the Truth and Reconciliation late in the conflict. However, the company was destroyed in the vessel's, and later the ringworld's, subsequent destructions.
