UNSC Cascadia is a Paris-class heavy frigate[1] in service with the UNSC Navy following the Human-Covenant War.[2] In 2556, Cascadia was commanded by Captain French.[1]

History

Cascadia was among the first ships to respond to the glassing of Cleyell by a faction of the former Covenant in 2556 to support search and rescue operations. Her complement at the time included Marines from the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers and a detachment of the Army's 412th Engineer Command.[2]

Cascadia deployed a D79-TC Pelican—with Sergeant Holly Tanaka, two ODSTs, and two other Marines aboard—tasked with rescuing survivors on the planet's surface. After engaging hostile Kig-Yar scavengers on Cleyell's surface, a handful of survivors was discovered by Tanaka and the ODSTs. With the Kig-Yar defeated, the civilians were successfully extracted aboard the Pelican and transported to Cascadia for safety.[1]

Trivia

The ship's name references the Cascade Range, a 1,100 km-long mountain range in the Pacific Northwest of United Republic of North America.
