The Covenant Supercarrier[1] was a warship classification within the Covenant Navy.

Background

File:SuperCarrier1.jpg
A Covenant Supercarrier being destroyed by an all-out barrage from UNSC forces.

Multiple Supercarriers of the Second Fleet of Homogeneous Clarity defended the massive space station of High Charity[2] and one such vessel served as the Flagship of the Combined Fleet of Righteous Purpose.[3][4]

A Supercarrier was encountered by the UNSC Heracles, UNSC Vostok, and UNSC Arabia as well as the forces under Vice Admiral Preston Cole in the Second Battle of Harvest[5]. It single handedly destroyed 13 ships in Cole's fleet before being destroyed by concentrated fire.

Appearance

A size comparison and estimation.

The Supercarrier is made up of five primary bulbous sections and appears as a light shade of purple. It is the largest ship in the Covenant fleet. It's extremely well-armed for a carrier and boasts three energy projectors near the fore of the ship and four to six on its stern. Various Pulse Laser Turrets and plasma torpedo tubes litter the hull as well.

Though most of its power is likely used up by the large number of energy projectors it uses in battle, the ship still can project a shield strong enough to protect it from multiple nuclear missiles and MAC rounds. However, the shield and hull will buckle under concentrated fire as shown when the eight ships left in Cole's fleet were able to destroy one.

Trivia

  • Though originally thought that Rapid Conversion was the ship that destroyed the Vostok and Arabia, the ship depicted in Genesis can be seen on battle screens to be around five times longer than a Marathon cruiser.
