During an engagement with UNSC forces, the Sacred Promise was severely damaged, forcing the weapons to be taken offline. An attempt was made to elicit support from the Devotion and fighter cover from Commitment and Patience. However, before any help could arrive, Commitment and Patience was crippled by a well aimed Kinetic Penetrator round which ruptured several fuel cells and put the main drive into 'runaway state'.

Appearances
Sacred Promise was mentioned in the Transmissions as sending a taunting message to the UNSC Pillar of Autumn. Thus, it may have been part of the Covenant's Fleet of Particular Justice during the Battle of Reach. It was also mentioned in Conversations from the Universe.
