Qunu's naming structure is unusual. It is unknown whether "Qunu" is his first or second name.

One the one hand, it could be assumed that it is his first name, as he doesn't have the (') or the (-ee), and he can't be a civilian as he is a [[Zealot]], and commander of a destroyer. On the other hand, [[Elites]] never allow run-on vowels (that is, it is unlikely that an -ee would go after another vowel sound). Still, there are no known Elites with pure surnames finishing in vowels.

Qunu (surname unknown) was a Covenant Sangheili and Ship Master of the destroyer Far Sight Lost. [1] His knowledge of the ritual responses from the Fire and Repentance Codices was said to be unmatched.[2]

In 2552, his ship, which was part of the Combined Fleet of Righteous Purpose, was sent with the Incorruptible to Onyx. Qunu was ordered ahead of the main fleet to try to make contact with the Onyx Sentinels. The Sentinels, in turn, destroyed his ship, killing him along with the ship's entire crew.[3]
