Prepare to Drop is the song featured in the Halo 3: Recon Trailer. The song underscores the last part of the Halo 3: Recon Trailer when the as of yet unknown ODST exits the drop pod and surveys his/her surroundings. The piece starts off with a reed solo backed quietly by high strings, soon growing and building upon itself as tension increases. This matches up with when the phantom and patrol of brutes passes in the trailer. The music then reverts back to the quiet reed solo before the piece grandly expands to the end of the trailer as the ODST is lead away from the patrols by the Superintendent (Construct) and the titles and logos are shown. It runs for 1 minute and 18 seconds.
