Lance Corporal Pineada, nicknamed "Pine Tar",[1] is a UNSC Marine from Third Squad, First Platoon, Kilo Company of E2-BAG/1/7.[2] He participated in the Battle of Mombasa under the command of Corporal Palmer.

On October 20, 2552, his squad was joined by John-117 while in the Mtangwe Underpass. After evading a Covenant attack by escaping into a sewer tunnel, the Marines emerged near the Kilindini Park Cultural Center. Before they proceeded to move out to their command post at Beria Plaza, Pineada built an improvised trap into the drainage tunnel out of two jerry cans, a fragmentation grenade and a mess kit, for any Covenant that tried to pursue them. Soon after, the Marines and the Spartan proceeded to secure two intact Warthogs, with John, Palmer and PFC Sullivan manning an M12G1 LAAV while Pineada and the rest of the Marines, designated B Team,[3] commandeered an M831 Troop Transport with Pvt. Emerson driving and followed the other team, eventually making it to the command post.[4]
