Miridem was a human controlled colony world. In 2544, the Covenant invaded the planet culminating into the Battle of Miridem. All that is known of this conflict is that SPARTAN-II Sheila-065 was killed by the Sangheili Major Thel 'Lodamee and that Dr. Halsey was eventually taken hostage.[1][2] Although UNSC forces had put up a good fight during the battle, Miridem was ultimately glassed by the Covenant and declared lost.[3]
Lance Corporal Morton, having previously lived on Eridanus II, lived on Miridem before evacuating to Minister.[4]
