Kalmiya is [[Dr. Catherine Halsey]]'s replacement for [[Cortana]] while the latter is working with the [[Master Chief]]. Since AI's are created in Halo by copying the neural patterns of cloned human brains, she is a copy of Dr. Halsey's neural patterns, in a sense being Cortana's older sister. She also contributes a portion of her core programming to the making of Cortana. She is erased according to UNSC protocol when the [[Oni|ONI]] [[CASTLE Base]] self-destructs to prevent the [[Covenant]] from discovering any human secrets, such as the location of [[Earth]].


An AI created by [[Dr. Catherine Halsey|Dr. Halsey]] and the older “sister�? of [[Cortana]]. The software intrusion programs were designed and tested on her before being incorparated into Cortana. These programs were used to hack into Colonel Ackerson’s files. That she still existed ignored an [[Office of Naval Intelligence|ONI Section Three]] order to destroy any prototype software routines. She was erased by the Doctor per the [[Cole Protocol]] before her escape into ONI's [[CASTLE Base|underground facility]] on [[Reach]].
