Dale was a citizen living in Gladsheim on the planet Harvest [1].
When the Brute ship, Rapid Conversion, attacked Gladsheim, he, his son Leif, and Gladsheim's other civilians were evacuated by Mack. It's possible that he and Leif escaped Harvest via the Tiara, unless they were on the seventh strand, which collapsed, killing about 250,000 people.
