The UNSC Colonial Cross is the highest ranking military decoration awarded to Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, and Airmen in the UNSCDF next to the Medal of Honor.Template:Fact The Colonial Cross is awarded for acts of singular daring and devotion[1] and is the highest wartime decoration a UNSC serviceman or woman can earn.[2] It is usually given out in a ceremony recognizing the person who has won the award.[3]

In 2552, Fleet Admiral Sir Terrence Hood held a highly publicized ceremony to award several Colonial Crosses aboard Cairo Station.[4]
