At 343 Industries, Schlerf became the Senior Writer and narrative director for Halo 4.[3] He created the original draft of the game's script and continued to write for the game throughout the development process, alongside the rest of the writing team.[4] He was also the writer of Halo: Escalation until the sixth issue, and the short story Petra included in the 2010 reissue of Halo: First Strike. Chris Schlerf left 343 Industries in November 2013.[5] After Schlerf's departure from 343 Industries, Brian Reed became the Halo franchise's lead writer.[6] Schlerf now works at BioWare in the new Mass Effect game.[7]
