The Age of Conflict would have happened many thousands of years after the Age of Abandonment. It is believed that in this Age the Elites and Prophets began fighting each other, beginning with the Sangheili-San 'Shyuum War due to religious differences in the treatment of Forerunner objects.

Another Age of Conflict was ushered in by the Grunt Rebellion, caused by conflict between Grunts and Jackals, meaning that there have been at least two Ages of Conflict. This Age of Conflict led on to the 23rd Age of Doubt.
