The Halo Wars Demo contained 2 campaign levels, [[Alpha Base]] and [[Relic Approach]]. [[Alpha Base]] was about you ([[Sergeant Forge]]) helping Marines fight the Covenant. Eventually, you will get a convoy of Warthogs and move into the base. You then fight the remains of the Covenant and take it back.

In [[Relic Approach]], you start by fixing up the base. You make [[Barracks]] and [[Supply Pad]]s to train Marines. You then follow Forge to the Relic, squashing Covenant along the way. When you reach the Relic, you must kill the Covenant inside and destroy the detonator that the Covenant planned to use on the Relic. In the cutscene, Forge and Anders and Marines go into the Relic, only to be ambushed by Stealth Elites. The level ends with Forge saying they need backup.
